Re: Copy Handles: Unlike unauthorized copies of our handles that use only a single 0.062” thick unsupported carbon fiber layer, ours do not crack, delaminate, or debond from the aluminum ends. SB Tool handles are constructed from three different composites with a 0.180” thick wall, making them virtually indestructible, with exceptional impact and vibration resistance. Our handles are made with our unique 6-lobed die using pultrusion and bonded with polyurethane, making them significantly stronger than the epoxy thin round tube off-the-shelf tube used in the copy handles. Our handles have been on the market for twelve years, and we have never had a returned handle due to failure or defects.
Re: Copy Bolsters: Unlike unauthorized copies of SB Tool’s bolsters, ours are precisely machined to the exact tolerances needed to lock on the taper correctly. The copies use incorrect tolerances and do not lock on the taper but instead butt up against the hexagon shoulder, allowing them to loosen when in use.
Our classic bolsters are nickel-coated gray iron, and our new bolsters are hardened stainless steel. Both are extremely corrosion resistant. The copies of our bolsters are just mild steel with no protective anti-corrosion coating.
